SHIRLEY E. M. HAIN

It is with great sadness that we announce that Shirley Hain, our very good friend and loved one, passed away on Monday, November 27th, 2023, at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents George and Elly Fullum, her beloved son Lawrence and cat Smudge. She will be missed by her close friends:  Ray and Lucie; and Larry Tanner; as well as Ray Reinsch of Calgary. She will also be missed by her longtime childhood friends: Mave; Ev; Pat; and Audrey of Winnipeg, and Ken Dopson of Victoria; also, by special longtime friends: Sonya; Donna; and Susan.

Shirley grew up in the Riverview area.  For several years she called Victoria home before returning to Winnipeg.  Shirley and Lawrence shared many special times at Winnipeg Beach and at a cottage on Temple Avenue.

Shirley worked at Manitoba Hydro for many years. She was an avid reader and an amazing writer.  Shirley enjoyed gardening, shopping, playing scrabble, as well as cribbage. Shirley had a generous and thoughtful spirit. She was a good listener, easy to converse with, and loved welcoming and entertaining friends.  Her great sense of humour will always be remembered.

Thank you, Norm; and thank you to the many kind friends and neighbours who recently helped Shirley at her home on Glenview Avenue.

Shirley was a lover of wildlife and all animals. She and Lawrence were especially fond of cats.  Therefore, contributions to D'Arcy's ARC, Craig Street Cats, or to the Winnipeg Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.  Dusty, Tippy, Baby, Blackie, Mite, Saffron, and Smudge will thank you.

Special thanks to the Doctors and staff at the 4th floor surgery and ICU Department at the Grace Hospital, for their kind and thoughtful care. Cremation has taken place.

In accordance with Shirley's wishes, no service will be held.
