EBERHARD AUCH

August 22, 1930 - April 2, 2025

Peacefully, on April 2, 2025, Eberhard Auch passed away at the age of 94.

He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 62 years, Rosemarie; his children, Andrea (Darren), Susan (Floyd), and Derrick (Wendy); and his cherished grandchildren, Jory, Colton, Kaitlyn, Kennedy, Jordan, Hannah, and Alex.

Born in Endersbach, Germany, Eberhard’s adventurous spirit led him to begin a new life in Canada in his 20s. He worked proudly and tirelessly as a bricklayer, a trade he was passionate about and practiced well into his 70s before retiring to his home he built at Hillside Beach, MB.

Eberhard’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. Along with Rosemarie, he loved exploring Canada on cross-country road trips. He was always ready to lend a hand and especially loved time at the beach—watching sunsets, taking walks, sharing visits, and tinkering with projects. Every visit ended with his familiar words: “Are you going already? When are you coming again?”

Eberhard lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and kindness. He gave freely of his time and energy, always putting others before himself.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A private gathering will be held this summer to celebrate his life.

Eberhard’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

So sorry to hear this.

My deepest condolences to you and your family ❣️

Your dad was always such a sweet man. I ran into your parents once when you hadn’t announced your initial pregnancy to those outside the family but he spilled the news to me and was very proud.

I will always remember fondly all the cross country skating trips in the white van with your parents and my mom.

Also your dad always helping on Wednesday evening's starting or timing Handicap 500 nights.

May he rest in peace ❤️

We are sad to hear of Eb's passing and our thoughts are with Rosie and the kids. But we all can have comfort that he is in peace now and the countless memories we had with Eb over the decades. He was a loving soul and a fun spirit that Erv and Edith will always cherish.

We were very sorry to hear of Eb's passing and offer our warmest thoughts to you Rose and your family.

As we embarked upon building our cottage next door at Hillside Beach, Eb would often wander over to check out the progress, always asking "how's the well?" We weren't sure if there was a secret to the well or maybe he knew something we didn't, haha. Eb would enjoy sitting having a beer and talking about the construction. One New Year's Eve, Eb and Rose joined us around the fire and we toasted in the new year together! In the winter time, we would see Eb out on his skis and he would let me know that the trail was ready down the road. He had carved it out himself that morning. I loved visiting with Rose and Eb on the weekends, sharing some baking, and talking about all the activities they had done in their lives, it was always so interesting and I treasure your friendship. We miss their presence at the cottage, seeing the lights on as we drove up was always a welcome sight.

Rose I'm sure you'll miss your partner so very much. Much love to you.
