JEFFREY WILLIAM AYRES
July 6, 1993 – April 28, 2024
It is with immense sorrow and heartbreak that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Jeffrey William Ayres, on April 28, 2024, at 30 years of age.
Jeff is survived by his mother Kimberley Metzler; father Audie Ayres; grandfather, William Metzler; aunties, Diana Metzler, Betty Conroy, Corinne Ayres, Janet Davies, and Mia Ayres; cousins, Jessica, Jennifer, James, Joey, Shannon, Derek, and Tanya; as well as many friends and coworkers.
Jeff was predeceased by his grandmother Rita Ayres; grandfather Eric Ayres; grandmother Marlene Metzler; uncles Eric Ayres and Jimmy Ayres.
Born July 6, 1993, Jeff grew up in St. Vital, went to Hastings School and then Dakota Collegiate. He was working at All Pro Mechanics in commercial plumbing.
Jeff was a wonderful, amazing person and a joy to be around. He had a way with people, was extremely likeable. Jeff was also of strong character and was not afraid to stand up for himself or someone else. As a child, he made friends easily and excelled at soccer, cubs, swimming, and could be found at the community club skating and playing hockey for hours. During summers, Jeff enjoyed exploring Gimli, Clear Lake, Kenora, Souris, Grand Beach, and Victoria Beach. As a teenager, he was adventurous and popular and Jeff blossomed into a loving, caring, capable man. Jeff had many interests and loved to fish in summer, ice fish in winter, golf, growing vegetables, and was a seriously fantastic cook. He had a BBQ smoker and loved to cook up fabulous dinners with pride. Jeff was a huge Jets fan and loved going to festivals.
Jeff had a wonderful, special, easy-going demeanor and was oh so handsome. He was liked instantly by anyone he met and he had an incredible, witty sense of humor that would make everyone feel at ease. Jeff was respectful, caring, and a hard worker. Jeff loved his family and friends, and he loved life and to be out in nature.
Our Jeff was a bright shining light in this world and will be missed dearly. A life cut short, gone too soon, we take comfort knowing his beautiful soul will live forever.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:00-4:00pm on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road (Unitarian Church).
"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day ... unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear."

My deepest sympathies to my cousins Kim and Diana and Uncle Bill. My heart breaks with you for you loss. He looked like an amazing kid/guy who I wish I'd met. I hope you find solace in your memories and that he may be with Grandma Marlene again. I love you all and am here in BC if you ever want to come for a repose.
