RANDY EARL CLARK CHRISTOPHERSON

June 27, 1970 - April 8, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Randy Earl Clark Christopherson on April 8, 2025, at the age of 54. Randy had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for. His kind heart, laid-back spirit, and quick wit brought light and laughter to everyone he met. He will be missed more than words can ever express.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Randy lived a life rich with love, humour, and lifelong friendships. From a young age, hockey was his greatest passion. He began with the River Heights Cardinals and advanced to the Winnipeg South Monarchs, where his team won the prestigious Quebec Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament and earned the nickname "Mini Jets." Randy later played for the Winnipeg South Blues, the Minnesota Iron Rangers in the American Hockey Association, and finished his career with the Morden Redskins in southern Manitoba.

Hockey wasn't just a sport for Randy-it was where he built unbreakable bonds. Among his dearest friends were his fellow "Blues Brothers": Bounder, Scooby, Finny, and Farris. His circle also included Janne, Willy, Dusty, and his longtime friend and roommate, Mike-his Sunday night Tulsa King buddy. These friendships meant everything to him and stood the test of time.

After his hockey years, Randy moved to Calgary to live with his Aunt Twila and Uncle Mark. Under Mark's mentorship, he became a plumber and went on to build a successful plumbing company of his own-a testament to his work ethic, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Outside of work, friendship, and his deep love for hockey, Randy had a true passion for watching anything NHL or golf. He was a devoted fan, and when he wasn't cheering from the couch, he could often be found enjoying a round of golf himself. Time spent on the links brought him peace and joy, and he treasured those days.

Randy held a deep, enduring love for his parents, Earl Osmond Christopherson and Ione Marie Christopherson, both of whom predeceased him. He carried their memory in his heart with pride, respect, and devotion. He also looked up to his stepfather, Brian Fortier, who played a guiding role in his life.

Randy is lovingly remembered by his stepfather Brian; his aunt and uncle, Mark and Twila Orto; his cousins Joelle Orto (Tim Bird) and Danielle Lawrie (Scott), and their children Ava and Kolbe; as well as his chosen family, Jamie Bound, who was like a brother to him. He leaves behind extended family and many cherished friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of Randy's life will be held at a later date.

The whistle may have blown, but your shift isn't over. Skate free, Randy, and know that your bench will always be full of friends. May the fairways be peaceful, the greens gentle, and your mom and dad waiting just beyond the horizon, arms open to welcome you home.

Randy’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

I will miss Randy immensely. While playing with Blues and Monarchs we had such great leadership on the team with Randy leading the group. Randy treated me like an younger brother and always looked out for me on and off the ice. We had a lot of good times and I will always be grateful that Randy was my friend. I will miss you brother.

Our team here at the Kikiwak Inn Hotel would like to extend their condolences and send a heart felt message to Mr. Christopherson's family. We have only known him for a short few weeks while he was up north working in Opaskwayak Cree Nation but he sure held a great conversation and always made everyone feel so welcome. Sending tons of love to all who had the pleasure of knowing him ♥︎

A truly great guy. Stand up. Straightforward, and genuine. You know where you stood with Randy. And if you didn't know, he would tell you. Very passionate about life and the people he cared about. An amazing sense of humour, and a laugh that could capture a room. And if that didn't get your attention, his Moose call in the centre of the bar would. You were one of a kind Randy. Rest well! You are at peace now.

Where do I start I find it hard to type the emotions I feel right now so I will keep it like Randy would like it...short and sweet! I'll miss you my friend but your forever in my heart and soul, we are not only blues brothers but true brothers that really loved each other like family! You called me helldog and I named you savage! I know with two nicknames like that you would really know each other in a deeper way then just friends! We will always be brothers my dear friend and until we meet again rest in peace !

Randy had a heart made of pure gold and cared deeply for anyone in his life - family and his friends that were more like family, as well as anyone lucky enough to have known him.

I will always love him and carry him in my heart every single day.

I'm so grateful he's at peace now.

I love you so much Randy.

This isn't goodbye, it's just till we meet again, cousin.

RIP Christopherson. I was lucky that Randy befriended me In Winnipeg. We had both moved to Alberta in our early 20's and our friendship continued. We'd head out on the town, hike down by Bragg Creek and I'd sleep on his couch when I drove down from Red Deer for the weekend. Lots of laughs...

I loved Randy he was like my brother. I respected him and loved his personality. We had lots of laughs and enjoyed playing hockey together. I recently had heart surgury and Randy continued to reach out and was concerned about me when he was battling heart issues as well. I wish I had one more day Randy with you to tell you how good you made me feel. RIP Randy Scooby ❤️
