In Loving Memory of
HULDA DALY

August 23, 1929 – December 13, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Hulda is deeply mourned by her children: Linda, Karen, Sandra, Janet (Gary), Tom (Michelle), Brenda (Alfred), Heather, Shelley (Sean), Sharon (Billy). She also leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered by her brother Walter; her sister Carolyn (Robert); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Tom; daughter, Dinah; sons-in-law Brian, Danny, and Ken; and great-grandson Riley; as well as her Mother, Father and four Brothers

Hulda was born in Manitoba on August 23, 1929, and raised in Grand Marais. She moved to Winnipeg where she met the love of her life, Tom. They were married on August 4, 1951, and together raised their 10 children in Brooklands and Weston. They were well-known and cherished members of the community.

Hulda worked tirelessly, cleaning houses and offices and St. Thomas Church. She served as the president and treasurer of the Brooklands and Weston Legion Shuffleboard League for an incredible 32 years and was a dedicated board member of the Brooklands and Weston Seniors.

Hulda cherished her time spent at her cottage in Grand Marais with her family, creating countless cherished memories. She was known for her legendary Christmas Eve celebrations, which brought her ever-growing family together each year.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the North Nurses Station and the staff at Luther Personal Care Home for the excellent care and compassion shown to our mother.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:30pm – 6:30pm on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the Weston Community Centre, 1625 Logan Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Hulda’s memory.

Hulda's warmth, dedication, and love will forever be remembered by all who knew her.

Hulda’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Beautiful lady, always had a smile for everyone. Saw her a few years ago at the legion she came up to me gave me a hug and we had a nice conversation. It had been many years since I last saw her so it meant alot that she recognized me and even to sit and talk. She had a great sense of humor telling little jokes. She will be missed by many. Rest in peace Mrs. Daly.

Sorry to hear the loss of your mother. She was a kind hearted woman and was always very kind to me as a young kid hanging out at your place and always feeding me. She'll be greatly missed by all of you. Hugs to your whole family.

Auntie Hulda ... I've always admired what a strong and determined woman you have always been ... and at the same time such a kind and caring family member. Growing up it was always a treat to go and visit Uncle Tommy and Auntie Hulda plus all my cousins.. You are one that will always be missed and kept in my heart....
