Armand Legault

JOSEPH “ARMAND” EUGENE LEGAULT
February 6, 1932 – April 3, 2025
With family by his side, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and Papa, Armand Joseph Legault, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, at the age of 93.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 71 years, Jeannette; his children, Cécile (Glen), Louise (Don), and Denis (Marion); and his daughter-in-law, Janet. He will be deeply missed by his 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. Armand was predeceased by his sons Raymond and Paul, his grandson Joshua, his parents, his sister Ida, and his brother Clifford.
Born in Hull, Québec, Armand bravely moved to Manitoba without knowing a word of English, demonstrating the strength and determination that defined his life. In 1953, he met the love of his life, Jeannette, and they were married that October, beginning a marriage filled with laughter, love, and commitment.
Armand worked for many years at Curtis Tire in Winnipeg. Later, he found great joy in running fishing cabin rentals at Hilltop Motel in Grand Rapids, a place filled with laughter, stories, and unforgettable memories.
Armand was known for his sharp wit and playful spirit. He loved to joke around and tease everyone, always bringing a smile to those around him, right up until the very end. Beneath the humour was the kindest soul, someone who shared warmth and affection with everyone he met.
He had a true passion for card games and never passed up the chance to play a few hands with family and friends. Those games were filled with laughter, friendly banter, and Armand’s playful “zapping”, where he’d place his pen on someone’s name in hopes they’d lose the next round. A tradition that became part of the fun and will be remembered by all who shared those moments with him.
He will be remembered not only for his strength and resilience, but for the love he poured into his family and the joy he brought to life.
Armand’s family is deeply grateful to the special staff on the third floor at Actionmarguerite St. Vital, who matched his humour and kind spirit, and made his last days as comfortable as possible.
Rest in peace Dad, we miss you, and we will love you forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Armand’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Sincere condoleances to Jeannette and family for the loss of Armand. We have many good memories of our card games and, yes, the "zapping"! The video is a beautiful tribute especially with his favorite song. We always hear that song at old time dances and I always comment,"that's Armand's song".
