He loved and was proud of his Grandchildren, Julia and Alexander. He is also survived by his siblings, Don, Darlene (Bill), Kim (Chris) and Dan (Mavis); his sister-in-law Joy (Len); and his many beloved nieces and nephews. Dennis was all about golf and played for years with the Tuesday night golf league and Manitoba Senior Golf Association. Cinamon Birdy’s Anyone?
Dennis loved animals, he was quick with a joke, had an amazing wit and made friends wherever he went. Dennis was warm and friendly, and he would extend himself to anyone that needed help. He spent many warm winters with Karen in Texas where he could extend his golf game and social life. He loved the outdoors and spent much of his youth fishing and hunting with his uncles, cousins and brothers and as her grew older he continued the tradition with annual hunting trips with his brother Dan.
Dennis was an avid fan of the Blue Bombers attended every game he could. He enjoyed pool and poker and spent every Thursday playing poker with his poker buddies. Dennis loved to host his family for Sunday BBQ’s and holidays making great meals where everyone was always welcome. Dennis will be very missed by his family & friends.

I was deeply saddened when I heard of his sudden passing. Dennis was my boss and friend for many years. He was an avid golfer and we played many rounds together. I hope wherever he goes there is not one golf course that he doesn't score well and make many birdies.
My condolences to his family and friends.

Dennis was a true friend, that impacted my life with his humorous and whitty personality that I will forever cherish, not to mention the best golf partner ever! His ability to inspire everyone around him was second to none. I know I am a better person because of how he influenced my life!

Always loved playing in Dennis's foursome with the MSGA because of his Birdie treat. Going to miss Buddy and your special smile and always kidding me about my size, and of course the Birdie treats on the different courses we play. I guess you will find a new foursome and go for the Birdie

My sincere condoleces to Karen and all of Dennis's family. He was a man of true integraty, reaching out to whom ever needed help and of course humor. We had so many laughs together. I will now have to go to his son Chris for golf tips. Whenever I run into any situatiion, I will ask myself what would Dennis do! I could never thank him enough for all the help Dennis and Karen did for me 6 months ago when I lost my wife of 25 years. Dennis Slack and Geoff Walker and myself will think of him everytime we go golfing. We don't have to bring birdie juice now, even though Dennis always looked after us on that, because he was the only one that got birdies. Attached is a photo from 2021 where Dennis shot his age 71. Another memory I will never forget.
God Bless my dear man, you will be so missed.

My condolences to Karen and all of Dennis family.
Dennis will always be remembered by everyone that knew him for his incredible sense of humour and his quick wit. His generosity with his time to always be there if you needed advice or help. we spent time together in Texas. Dennis, Geoff, and I cooked and prepared an all you can eat baked spaghetti supper for 250 people we became known as the 3 AMIGOs
I will miss him for the golf we played with MSGA Dennis could always be counted on to get the birdies and supply the Birdie juice.
Our love to you Karen for Fullfilling Dennis's life he told me he would not change anything in his life.

To Karen and family: Our very deepest and most sincere condolences. Sandy and I both had the great fortune of working with Dennis, and have MANY great memories of the time spent with Dennis at 1075, and for me also on the golf course. Was so very glad that I ran into him at the golf shop on numerous occasions since retirement and it was always the same old Dennis, both giving and taking shots and trash talking each other, followed by that infectious smile and belly laugh. He will be missed!

Dear Karen & Family:
Both my wife and I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Dennis at the Motor Vehicle Branch. I recall our lunch hour card games and many laughs. I was also a member of the Tuesday Night Golf League and was always better on the 19th Hole than I was on the actual course. Golf was a real passion for Dennis and he always encouraged other to take up the sport regardless of their proficiency, or lack thereof.
We extend our sincere condolences to Karen and the entire Nelson family. May you find comfort in the many memories you shared with Dennis. Rest well, Dennis.
