JOHN HENRY NEUFELD

October 3, 1959 – April 8, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Neufeld on April 8, 2025, at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 65.

He is survived by his beloved wife Colette; his mother Eunice Neufeld; siblings, Dave / Sharon, Mark / Brenda, Ron / Diane, and Dan / Michelle; nieces, Christine, Sharrie, Michelle, Stephanie, Ashley, and Taylor; nephews, Derek, Gaitlin, Matthew, and Joshua; his children, Jason and Jackeline; stepchildren, Stephanie and Eric; grandchildren, Kaleb, Coltyn, and Ava.

John was predeceased by his father Abram; and baby sister Bonnie.

John started working at an early age hoeing beets in the fields. He then became a turkey and chicken catcher. He worked at Lund Boats Greenbush Holsteins. While John was employed there, he was in a serious accident that left him permanent scars on his face. Shortly after he was employed at Kitchen Craft for 37 years.

John’s passion was listening to music. When someone asked him what his favourite music was he responded, “Anything with a beat.” John also enjoyed fixing vehicles or anything with a motor. He loved taking things apart and putting them back together. Sometimes he would have extra pieces.

Fishing was another all-time favourite. John loved travelling, especially Mexico. Anybody who knew John knew hamburgers were his go-to food. One time he ordered a triple patty. They had to put a steak knife through it to hold it together so he could eat it!

His sense of humor was one of a kind. He loved to watch and send fart videos to his brothers and friends.

When Coltyn was born, he was the proudest grandpa. Coltyn was the apple in his eyes!

John fought a long-hard battle with his cancer dialysis. I never met such a strong, determined man. He was optimistic right up until his last day. He was such a trooper!

My sweet babe,

You will be dearly missed!

I love you.

Rest in Peace, Johnny!

A Celebration of his Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 40 First Ave N in Blumenort, MB. Please RSVP to colette_hartley@hotmail.com

I am so sorry for your loss as well as all who knew him..I hadn't seen John in years and it was with great surprise when I saw a friend request on Facebook. I accepted and never regretted that decision. John was a funny caring person. Our loss is heaven's gain.

So sorry for your loss. Much too young to say goodbye. Growing up I so looked forward to going to my cousin's in Mitchell. Everytime I went, I knew we would laugh and have a great time. I remember when we pulled up to their house Johnny, Mark and Ronnie would lay down on the driveway as our car pulled up! Then jump up last second. So funny! Keystone Kopps! Lol. I remember a sleepover Johnny had at our place when we played in the sandbox with our Tonka trucks. Uncle Abe, Aunt Eunice, . Dave, Johnny, Mark, Ronnie and Danny were a huge and important part of my growing up years. To the whole family, I trust the love John had for you all will sustain you through this difficult time. See you on the other side John.
