He will be lovingly missed by his wife Shirley of 57 years. He also leaves to mourn his son Darryl; estranged daughter Melanie; special pet Ninja; his nieces, Sharon (Rick), Nancy (George), Lori (Don), Charmaine (Tom), and Sandy. Joe was predeceased by his mother Anastasia; father James; sisters, Stella and Jenny; as well as niece Debbie.

Also left to cherish his memory are his sister-in-law Donna (Rod); brother-in-law Ken (Debbie); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

During the last few years of life, Joe faced many health challenges but maintained his love for life and positive attitude.

Joe attended Manitoba Teachers’ College, then completed his B.A. at the U of W. and his B. Ed at the U of M. He worked as a teaching principal at school in Eddystone, Sandy Hook and Springfield. Joe moved to Arthur Day Junior High when it opened, then after 12 years graduated to Murdoch McKay Collegiate as an English and History teacher/department head.

Hi Shirley

Our condolences to you and the family on the passing of Joe. It was always a pleasure to see him when he dropped into the office, whether visiting with you or being our #1 courier service ☺️

Al & I are thinking of you.
