DONNA STAFFORD-DAVIDSON

With heavy hearts, we announce that Donna passed away at home, surrounded by her dogs on Dec 8th, 2023.

Donna was a hidden gem, loved by both her community and all the rescue dogs she helped over the years. Her home was a sanctuary, every dog who was lucky enough to stay with her must have felt so safe and loved.

Her legacy will live on through her granddaughters, Victoria & Charlotte, who shared her love of animals. So many lives have been touched by Donna, we take comfort knowing how far her love and generous spirit reached.

We want to thank Ethical Death Care for their assistance and compassion for all of Donna’s aftercare, and for the beautiful video tribute. Please join us for a Celebration of Donna’s life on January 31st at her daughter Elizabeth Ashe’s home.

I also lucky to have worked with Donna at the Winnipeg Free Press. She was always very nice to me and treated me with respect. I admired her calmness handling the fast pace in the advertising department. Donna was a dedicated, knowledgeable employee and the video makes me realize how much she was loved and cherished in her home life. Sincerest condolences to the family. ❤

I was lucky to have known Donna while working at the Free Press. She was a very knowledgeable knitter, she was always willing to help me with difficult stiches during coffee breaks. Anytime someone "illegally" brought in a pet Donna was first in line to welcome them.

I have known Donna for 20 years through the Winnipeg free press. She was always such a sweet lady. Always helped me with anything i asked at work and every time I did a fundraiser for an animal charity in the city she would donate $100. We even did a Christmas basket for animals at a different shelter each year and she would go out and buy lots of treats. The last time i spoke with her was when myself and a coworker had rescued a little dog off the street. It had taken hours to catch him and it was late at night maybe 9pm. He was cold and hungry. Donna did not hesitate to come and help us after Amber called her, she drove over and met me immediately and took the little guy home and fostered him till he was adopted. Truly an angel at heart. I will miss her ❤ Alana

Mike, Elizabeth, Victoria and Charlotte.... my heart breaks for you. Your Mom/Gramma was a very special lady, and I'm honored to have called her my Friend..... my confidant... and my 'partner in crime'. I'll miss her dearly, but I will never forget.❤
