He was pre deceased by his parents Winnie and Peter and sister Janet.

David was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 12, 1955. He lived life to his fullest.

David loved connecting with people. Whether it was with his visits to Rossmere Lanes, his time spent at Shooting Star Casino, his passion with his food truck (Sugar Shack) - making his famous deep fried Oreo cookies.

Many will also remember Dave as the candy machine guy.

In most recent years together with his wife Cheryl and their love for dogs insured other families lives had furry companions.

The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to his niece Carrie Whenham and the complete staff at the St. Boniface Hospital.

Rest easy Dave. So many memories of the 67 years we spent together growing up ⬆️ in Winnipeg, Minnedosa and Thompson. The love you had for fast cars, all the various employment adventures but most of all your caring and unselfish ways. Your Family was always first and foremost. Love you Dave. ❤

I didn't know Dave very well as I live in ND but he made my friend, his wife a very happy woman so I know he was a great guy. She will miss him very much and I hope you all will be there for her since I can't be. I am very sad to hear of your loss 😳

Uncle Dave, what can I say, you made an impression on me, kept my Aunty happy, you were one heck of a gambler as well. Will definitely miss you.

Thinking of you Cheryl and the entire family. Dave was such a kind friend. We were so happy to call him family, because that is how he treated us. He will be missed. Prayers and hugs.

So very sad to hear of Dave’s passing 🥲 New him for many years from Rossmere Lanes. And whenever we went down to the Shooting Star, he would meet up and have dinner, drinks and a few laughs and good conversation. RIP Dave … Helen & Armond  Viznaugh

I shared this Story with Both Collin and Terry earlier this week.  But when I was a young kid, I always thought my Uncle Dave looked like (and sometimes I thought he was) Kenny Roger’s 😆
